I just had to take a second to mention how awesome my boss is and how, completely unexpectedly, he got me an Xbox 360 for my birthday/Christmas. I’m completely blown away. He certainly didn’t need to do that, but I’m extremely appreciative and thankful.
I know I’m going to pick up Gears of War and Dead Rising, but I’m not sure what else. I have mixed feelings about Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon. I don’t want to get something I won’t play, and those seem like “so-so” title for replayability. I could get the new Tony Hawk, but I’m just not 100% into those titles anymore. Dunno. Maybe I’ll wait till January and pick up Lost Planet, that looks kinda cool.
Congrats on the 360. I got my hands on a Wii. I play waaaaaay too often. When they become more readily available, I advise scooping one up and completing the popular “Wii60” two-console set.
As for your guess, nope, I won’t be a SCAD prof. Not yet at least. I was an intern at the college’s Working Class Studio (it’s a product development studio…it’s googleable), and they asked me back as “Chief Intern” which basically means I get to hang out there rather than taking my last studio elective. If anything, I’d end up working there, but that’s not the announcement either as they haven’t offered anything (yet). But it was a damn good guess though, ’cause an announcement like that has a pretty decent probability of happening.
Oh, and you should already know this…but if you EVER want to collab on a project, at ANYTIME, I’m there. Seriously. Email me and let me know about this podcast or anything else, and we’ll figure out a way to get it done. Cool?

I’m with nagle on the Wii. We’ve been borrowing a friends. The Wii titles so far are thin, but I never had a gamecube so there are a bunch of used $10 games to pick up.
That was pretty cool of your boss. Usually for christmas my bosses just give me “not firing me.”

Thanks guys. I was just so totally surprised it was funny. Usually everyone has a vague idea of what they’re getting, mostly because of what you told people you wanted, but I assumed no one was going to get a 360. I had planned to save from Christmas and birthday money and get the basic system myself after the holidays.
As for the Wii, it looks sweet. It was part of the “long term” plan to get one and do that whole Wii60 thing. I think there are some great titles come for the Wii and it end up being a better “party title” system. Personally, I’d have people over to play Smash Brothers over just about any other game on the planet.
