Well kids, another day of work is over and done with. Yah. I only had to put up with 1 asshole today! Yippee. But, boy, what a tools he was. Lemme explain. Around 12 this guys comes in and wants a “Game Shark”. I get it out of the case for him and begin to ring it up. I tell him the total and he hands me his credit card. I swipe the card through the machine but I DON’T press “total” or “final sale” yet because I always ask for ID first. I turn over his card and it’s not signed so I ask him for his drivers license. He tells me he doesn’t have it. I say “sorry, I can’t let you use the card then.” He seems fine with it, I cancel the transaction and hand him back his card. He then tells me plainly that he wants a receipt. “A receipt for what?” I ask. He says “you swiped my car, I want a receipt.” “I never charged your card, I cancelled the transaction” I reply. “I don’t care, you swiped my car, I’m not leaving until I have a receipt.”
Now, at this point you must take into acount the basic laws of physics. A) No transaction has been made therefor his card was not charged. B) the register doesn’t think the card has been charged and doesn’t print a receipt. C) I can not give him what physically does not exist. So, this continues to the point where he’s becoming very agitated. I tell him I can do very little for him, I do offer to swipe his card again (selling him the item) then return it (thus giving him his money back). He doesn’t like this idea but doesn’t object. I swipe the car again, he gets angry, I swipe it again to cancel (return) it and he gets even more angry. He’s now forgotten why I have to swipe it a few times. Hes now very upset and demanding a receipt for the original transaction still, refusing to be satisfied with the new one. I keep telling him that there was NO ORIGINAL transaction. I get to the point where I basically say screw this, I’m not doing you anymore favors, in fact, I’m undoing what I just did for you. I pull up the past transactions and post void the entire mess. Note, the original transaction, having never been made, it not among the things I’m deleting from the computer. I say “look, sir, these are post-void slips, they say that the entire transaction has been, was and will forever be canceled. Your card was never charged, theres nothing else I can do.” He’s still pissed but final accepts the limitations of our universe and has to accept the fact that he’s not going to have a receipt of something that never happened. He leaves, vowing to go to BestBuy. Whatever. I don’t have time to deal with people who can’t behave on a normal level or can’t deal with the fact that something just aren’t possible.
Besides that it was a fairly ok day. I hate retail. Period. Lets see, besides that, there was someone interested in buying the old truck (a good thing since I need that money), I order two tickets for tomorrow night for J&SB, I got to talk to Lauren (always a good thing), I’ll probably go get some food in a few minutes. Other than that, it was a pretty normal day. Tomorrow is my parents yard sale. I figured I help then since they’ve now told us that we can have some of the money from the things we sell. Always a good thing. Lets, see, oh, almost forgot. I d/l’ed a nifty little system memory meter called “SkinMem”. Of course its skinable, like all my toys, but it’s very easy to develop for, so be looking for some nifty skins from yours truely. I’ll also give you a link to D/L it… as soon as I remember it. Ok, I’m hungry. Later.

“Goooood morning Vietnam. Time to rock ya from the delta to the dmz. It’s 0800, whats the “0” stand for? “Oh” my god its early.”
Sorry, a little Robin Williams at 8am never hurt anyone. Heheh. Ok, I’m off to work for the day. Nick, I’ll order two tickets when I get home tonight, I saw the message. Hey, anyone else doing anything tonight? I didn’t have any plans and was hoping someone was up for doing something. Oh, and Chris, don’t let me forget to give you that $30 for the GeForce 2 before you leave… Anyway, I’m off to work. Later.
Current Mood: very tired

Hey there. Some good news from Nagle, it seems that Jay & Silent Bob strike back is having an advance screening in Lowell on Saturday. I was going to order tickets tonight but I don’t know how many of you are coming with me. I think Nick is busy, Chris promised his roommate and I’m not sure what Chip is doing… Someone let me know who can come so I can order the tickets. I’d really like to see it. Ok, besides that, work was borring, work tomorrow will be borring as well. At least I only have to work two more times after tomorrow. I have Saturday through Tuesday off, work Weds and Thurs and leave on Friday. I’m going to try and get another kid to cover Thursday so I can spend the day packing the car and getting ready. I hope he can cover me. All that and I still need to develope 5 or 6 rolls of film for my uncle. Arg. Let see, what else…
Oh, guys, I’ve got a shit load of stuff kitchen wise. I’ve got pans, pots, silverware, dishes, mugs, you name it. So, if you’d like to save space, I’ve probably got most of that covered. The only things I don’t have are glasses and utensils (like spatulas and wisks and big spoons, etc). Also, I figured I’d mention it, probably only for Pete’s sake, that my mother will be the one coming down this time and she’s not, well, as open-minded and leanant as my dad… so, for her sake (and my sanity), there’s nothing sitting around that would offend anyone or creep anyone out right? Giant pictures of satin, pig blood pentagrams on the carpet, things like that. There nothing like that right? Please tell me there nothing like that. If there is, could you do me a large favor and quitely move “frightening” things to a different location for when we get there. I don’t think my folks have the highest expectations for the residence of a couple of college guys but I’d like to surprise them. But, whatever, just figured I’d give you the heads up.
Speaking of coming to Savannah… my plan was basically to pack the car next Thursday night, leave early Friday morning. Stop in the bottom of VA for the night. Get up, finished the drive and be in Savannah by Saturaday afternoon. Spend Saturday night getting my crap in from the car and having some food. Sunday, get up, go shopping for a bed and the random pieces of furnature I might need. Set everything up and finished “nessesity” shopping on Monday, and drive my mom to the airport on Monday afternoon. Plah. Ok, enough rambling for the night. I’ve got work at 9am. Ouch. Later.
PS: call me if anyone wants to go and see J&SB on Saturday. otherwise I’ll see it in Savannah after next weekend.
Current mood: Tired and hurried.

Arg, silly computer. This stupid thing is playing power supply games again. Its shutting off ever 20 minutes on me. I’m fairly sure it’s not something else, like a heat issue, considering the case is off and its sitting infront of the AC at the moment. Anyway, yesterday I had to work till close. I had taken some allergy medication after getting there but neglected to see if it was the non-drowsy kind. Well, it wasn’t and I was completely useless all afternoon. After dinner, Nick came in, having returned from Alaska. It was a very welcome surprise. He wondered around the story breifly and then headed off. After work I met him over at TGI Fridays to grab a bite to eat and catch up. I hope I’ll get to hang out with him this week, he leaves for school about the same time I do. I think I’m just going to tell work that tomorrow is my last day. I need some time to pack and theres no sense starting a new pay week when I won’t see the check for a month. Anyway, today I’m batting clean-up again and will go in to close. Tomorrow I’ve got to go in early and open since the carpet cleaners are coming. yah. But at least I get out around 5. After that, my parents have planned a yard sale for Saturday without giving my brother and I fair warning. I already had plans to hangout with Nick (If he isn’t camping with Heather this weekend) or Chris and Chip. I’d kind of appreciate being able to spend my last Saturday with friends that I won’t see for another year. Plus I have to pack and buy some more things for the apartment so the timing of this yard sale couldn’t have been worse. I still need to get pictures developed for my Aunt and Uncle. Arg. So much to do, so little time. Yup, I’ve definatly decided that Friday will be my last day at work. Sorry EB, life comes first. Later.
Current mood: tired and etc.

I’ve also been toying with the idea of changing the name of the journal to “Idiosyncratic Routine”, I know it’s not original, more of an homage to Kevin Smith, but the meaning certainly fits. Idiosyncratic meaning “personal or distinctive” and Routine meaning “habit or routine”. So, broken down it would be “my personal routine” aka: “my daily life”. Which certainly fits with the purpose of the site. What do you guys think? Is “How do you like them apples” good as it is, or would this be better? Lemme know.
