Hey guys. I’m all done

Hey guys. I’m all done in the darkroom. I scanned in 3 of the 4 prints I made, the forth one I’m still working on, or at least I’m going to print some more tomorrow, so I’ll show you when I’m done. But, for now, feast your eyes on these three. The assignment was “artificial light” and I think it worked out well. Lemme know what you think, I’m always interested in peoples opinions. As always, click the thumbnail to see the larger images. Take a look:

Whatcha think?

Hey kids. Did everyone enjoy

Hey kids. Did everyone enjoy that extra sleep? I know I did. Anyway, today I’ve got a lot of darkroom stuff ahead of me, then some digital work when I get home. Shouldn’t be too bad though. I’ll let you guys take a peak at the prints when I finish this afternoon.

In other randomness, I got an email from Brent back at EB in NH. That was pretty cool. I was wondering how those guys were doing. He asked if I was going to come back and work over break. I’d like to, money is always good, but it’s kind of up to them. I really couldn’t work around the time of my birthday, which, consequently, is the week before x-mas. It’s a little crappy to take off work the week before x-mas when you’re working retail. If all goes well, Lauren will be coming up that week, or maybe the week after x-mas, we’re not sure, but either way, I would obviously like to spend that time with her rather than working. So, if EB would like me back, I’m more than willing to work and make a few bucks, but I just couldn’t work when my girlfriend is here. I know they understand, so, if they’d like me back, Brent, lemme know.

Ok, off to the darkroom. There’s work to be done. Later.

Well, Lauren and I just

Well, Lauren and I just got back from seeing K-PAX with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. It was actually better than I expected and much deeper. I won’t get in to much since it would ruin it for you, but there are several cinema aspects that the director decided to use through out the film. First, and most obviously, is Kevin Spacey’s acting and ability to deliver dead-pan/dry-whit humor with a strait face. His sarcasm is refreshing and well received. Secondly, the movie focuses on light as a part of one of the subjects and as such, in nearly every scene, light is manipulated, reflected or cast in some way to make it more “special” and apparent. You’ll see what I mean if you go see it. Also, the cinematography was awesome as well as the “pacing” and the subconscious “return to the beginning” at the end. Lastly, the movie had a deeper social commentary undertone that was done very well. Spacey, as playing an alien, is able to comment on humans and human behavior in ways that we couldn’t. It too, it very well done. My only negative comments would be directed towards the ending, and I won’t discuss specifics since I’d ruin it, but for a split second you think that one things has happened and you’re satisfied with it, then, a small dose of reality kicks back in and it doesn’t quite match. You’ll see what I mean. Anyway, it was highly enjoyable and well worth seeing if you have the time.

Elsewhere, I went to the darkroom before the movie tonight and was able to get a fair amount of work done. Enough so that tomorrow I won’t have to work over time and be there all day. I’ll let you guys have a peak at the prints tomorrow, they’re really coming out well.

Lastly, remember to set those clocks back. Then again, if you’re on a computer (and you obviously are) it probably already did it for you. Oh well. G’night.

I’ve had quite an interesting

I’ve had quite an interesting night/morning. Lauren and I wondered about Savannah last night and took some pictures then came back and took a few more indoors. Hopefully they’ll come out well, Lauren just dropped them off at the photo store for me. I was shooting long exposures and forgot to compensate for resiprocity failure so hopefully they won’t be too bad.

I also got an offer to buy my domain. This would be the third offer I’ve had since the summer. While I appreciate them, I don’t plan on selling my domain. Sorry. It’s a personal thing.

I also got an email from my brother, which is odd, he usually never emails me. But on this occasion he let me know that he more than likely lost my Crystal Method CD, has a new girlfriend and that she has a “sweet ass house”. Here, lemme show you:

I have a new biznatch. Her name is Julia. She’s wicked hot. She’s a freshman ( i know I know) when Aunt Holly heard that she was a freshman she asked me if I was robbing the cradle. So that was really cool. Oh yeah, and she has this sweet ass house on Beacon St. in Boston. Six floors, with a totally sweet “media room” that has this huge screen that comes out of the ceiling, and a huge projector, it’s sweet.

My brother is odd.

Hey, for both you techno AND punk fans… I think Axis double booked on the 24th of November. The 24th is Avalons Sasha and Digweed show (doors at 8) but if you look on the Axis page, theres a listing for Bouching Souls, Flogging Molly and One Man Army on the 24th at 6. I dunno, but I doubt they could have Axis cleaned up in time for Digweed at 8 if that show doesn’t start until 6. Odd.

Anyway. The film will be ready around 4, so I think I’ll head to the darkroom after that, then get together with Lauren and possibly see “Kpax”, that new Kevin Spacy movie. Ok, shower time. Later.
