Well, today should be pretty

Well, today should be pretty cool. I’ve got 3D class later then Lauren has invited Jason and I over for dinner. From the sounds of it, it’ll be a tasty chicken dish. Yum! After that, Lauren, Hallie and myself are going downtown to see Shrek. I haven’t seen it before but everyone’s been telling me it’s really good. It’s a SCAD thing, so it only cost a buck, so even if it does stink, it only cost me $1.

Ok, I’ve also suspended work on the new design, at least until after mid-terms, I simply don’t have time at the moment.

I also inspired Chris the other day with my mix and last night I sent him some DJ stuff and he probably stayed up have the night mixing. Go Chris! You’d better send me what you come up with.

Ok, gotta get ready for class and figure out how I’m going to get this stuff to the building. I’ve got bits and pieces of computer circuit boards scattered everywhere. Don’t worry. I’ll post pictures when this thing is done. You’ll like it, promise. Later.

Interesting night. Got to hang

Interesting night. Got to hang out with Lauren, talked with Chris about techno and mixing, said hi to Tess, got an IM from Josh back in NH, found an MP3 I was looking for, got rent paid, moved my bed across the room, watched hockey, ate pudding, worked on Digital homework, worked on the website and got my HTFR catalogue in the mail. Such a semi-productive night.

Now if I can only restrain myself from ordering a bunch of T-shirts from HTFR. Man, I really need t-shirts, I only have a few wareable ones left, but I don’t really have the cash. Damn. Oh well, at least I’m not stupid enough to impulse buy a turntable set… or am I? Nah… maybe later though. Ok, sleepy time. G’night.

Chromes are the most annoying

Chromes are the most annoying photographic process on the planet. Chromes or “slides” or “positives” as the rest of you may know them, take approximatly 15 minutes per sheet to develope. 15!! I got a whopping 1 print done today and it took me 2 and a half hours. Great. I guess I know where I’ll be spending the weekend. Suck in tye photo lab with a bunch of damn slides. Arg. Oh well. The upside is that I have plenty of time to read my book. Ok, Digital time. Later.

Odd. Very odd. Lemme explain.

Odd. Very odd. Lemme explain. I got bored one day and started following links off of links and basically was doing some old-school web browsing. I was doing just that, browsing from one site to the next, not looking at content, just “walking by the window”. Then I started getting into blogs and journals, most of which were written by people under the age of 17. I started to worry. Then I started to get jealous. You see, they all had better site layouts than me, better graphics, better java-scripts, better everything. Every single one I can across had a better design. I couldn’t figure it out. Was the next generation born with awesome graphic design skills? I was becoming worried. Then, I started to notice a pattern. All these sites had links to “Cliques” or WebRings like us normal people call them and all of these led back to two or three web design services. Now things were becoming clearer. I was wondering why all of the sites had “celebrity versions” of their layouts. Get this: kids these days, in order to stay with the “trends” in cyberspace, have designed their sites using pictures of celebrities. Web designers caught on, scooped up every celebrity picture they could find and started offering templates for web pages. Lemme give you a few examples. Take a look at these:

SilverSix, Nine to Zero, Queen Clara and Ghost Roads.

I found templates, minus the content for those, scattered across design sites. Now I can rest slightly easier. Sorry to be paranoid, for a split second it looked like I had been outdone by an army of 15 year olds and thats more than enough to send shivers down my spine.

Ok, speaking of design. I’ve been working up idea for my new layout. Look for that coming soon. Some of you will probably get previews so I can get some creative input. I’ll let you know.

Also, my roommate just got back from BestBuy with the new Garbage album. And, well, all I have to say is that they picked a great name for the band. From what I can hear in the other room. That CD blows. Not just a little, but a lot. They were offering Garbage “loop packs” for people to remix, off of the AcidMax site, and I had downloaded a few. It took me all of 2 minutes to realize that there wasn’t a single usable (or good sounding) sample in the whole pack. And from the sounds of it, the CD makes good use of the same crap. My apologies to all those Garbage fans who are “faithful” to the band, but this one sucks. It sucks almost as much as Bad Religion, and that’s a lot. I liked (and own) the first two albums, but I’ll be staying far away from this one.

Alright, I think we’re going to order a pizza tonight… cause I’m starving. Later.

Hmm, no ceiling fan. How

Hmm, no ceiling fan. How odd. They finished with the bathroom and started on the ceiling fan that was broken. They worked on it for about 2 hours before finally giving up and CUTTING IT OFF!!!

They said they’d be back with a new one… that was 2 hours ago. Great. Now I have a large metal rod in my ceiling instead of a broken fan. Such an improvement.

Anyway, while they were working, I had nothing better to do, so I updated my bio page again. Now with “extended info”. Go me! *cough* Ok, it’s time for a cup of coffee and a little homework. Later.
