Ok, I’m a copycat. Sue me.
Things I’d like to do before I’m 30 (in no particular order):
– Be a DJ (just once… but more would be nice)
– Marry Lauren
– Get a nice medium format camera
– Visit clubs in England
– Own a classic car
– Collect my thoughts (from journals) into book form
– Get a nice magazine photography job
– Pay off college loans (ie: straiten out finances)
– See the Sox win a world series
– Make a movie
– Live in Boston
I don’t ask for much. Just basic stability, Lauren by my side, a camera in one hand and a turntable in the other. Is that to much to ask? I hope not.

I’m still at a loss as to what to do tonight. Jason finally woke up (he naps a lot) and we checked out movie times as well as PollStar (in case there was a show anywhere tonight). Nothing. So, that leaves me with a few options. A: Do homework (but we all know that isn’t going to happen), B: Play CS and/or DoD all night (like in days of old) or C: Look for ideas for art/graphic/photo projects (ie: inspiration, or more exactly, browing the web for cool things). That’s about all I got.
So, with that in mind, how about some links… in case you’re as bored as I.
Day of Defeat MOD homepage – otherwise know as DoD (as I refer to it as). A fun WWII Halflife MOD that’s become equal to Counter-Strike in my opinion. If you’ve never tried it, now is the time.
Spoono – in my opinion, one of the best sites for brushing up on your graphic skills. Great tutorials on everything from Photoshop to 3D Max.
Axxessdenied – Still looking for tutorials… Spoono not enough for you? Then check out this puppy. They’ve been closed for nearly 3 month but they just reopened with more tutorials then you’ll know what to do with.
Return to Sender – awesome online comic that was linked off of Penny Arcade last week. Finally had time to check it out. Very good. Very slick style.
That is all (for the time being)

I think nearly everybody got to do something cool this weekend. Lauren’s in Atlanta, Jason just got back from Tennesee, Nagle and Sean went to MegaCon (comic book convention) in Florida. What did I do today? I tutored for about 3 hours, then came home, ate bad pizza and have been playing DoD and CS ever since. I might be having fun if my computer would stop crashing. I know it’s an issue with the Asus P5A but there’s no documentation for it. Jason (jtn) and I have had the same problem for years, after about 15 minutes, the entire machine will reboot for no apparent reason. It use to be worse back when I had the TNT2 in there. It was nearly unplayable. I dunno. I’m bored with the games already. Maybe I go to Barnes & Noble and sit there and drink coffee for a few hours. Then again… nah, that’s no fun either. I’m bored. Plain and simple. Any suggestions?

Woo… stuffage. From the sounds of it, the boys are already hot on the trail of a posting/database system that will work for us. I’d personally like it as customizable as humanly possible (of course) but anything that works will be suficiant. The main features I’m looking for would be:
1) Easy administrative control
2) Ease of posting (see #1)
3) Customizable posting options
4) Function and useful extras (comments, polls, archives etc)
5) Easy to design around.
I guess I just want somthing that can will allow all of us to update easily and be easy to design around. (ie: the system controls the content and doesn’t dictate design). Who knows. I think I’ll leave this one up to Chip and Chris, they have far more experience in programming matters than I do. I know they’ll come up with something cool, they always do.
As for the rest of my day, pretty normal so far. I had my hair cut at noon. The stylist took far to much off. I asked for merely a shorter version of what I had. What I got was one of the shortest haircuts of my life. It’s not “bad”, I just don’t like it. It’s a big change from the “hair to the shoulders” I had going on. The back was brought up to about ear level and it was shortened all around. Then she made some mistake (which I couldn’t see) and said she had to blend it in, or something like that. That of course ment more hair coming off. I guess I should have been more specific with her, but I didn’t exactly have any suggestions as far as a style went (I wanted something new) so I guess it’s my own fault. On a scale of “happiness” I would be “distainful or mildly displeased”. The haircut looks good, just on someone other than me. Whatever. It’s only hair, it grows back…
