I’d like to call everyone’s attention to a few pictures that are somehow still floating around the web. These will help illustrate how damn cool we all were in highschool. I point you towards pictures for the highschool trip week took to the IT Expo in NYC. I would like you to pay perticular attention to there:
Picture of Chip, Jeff and myself (notice how “bad ass” I’m looking. Note the Ray Ban’s, Brooklyn Dodger hat, flashy jacket and ever present “early 90’s” plaid shirt)
Capt BadAss (myself) and Chip (looking like he just ate a lemon). See. Bad Ass… I’m not telling lies here folks.
As always… this has been your daily dose of heavy sarcasm. I was the furthest thing from “bad ass”, but I felt like taking a trip down memory lane. Enjoy.

FUCK MICROSOFT. FUCK THEM IN THEIR STUPID ASSES.
Look at the crap I got today when I tried to register my LEGAL copy of Office 2000.

WHAT THE FUCK?!? HAVE YOU PEOPLE NEVER HEARD OF OWNING A NEW COMPUTER???
What a bunch of assholes. To never consider that someone might actually purchase a new computer within the life of one of their products is simply moronic. Of course I’ve installed it on one or more computers… that doesn’t mean that I didn’t UNINSTALL it from the other ones. Fuck you Microsoft. Thanks for a shit load of nothing you pretencious assholes.

Well. I did just try and write this from my old system, but no dice. Apparently the IP address stuck to the new machine. Oh well. So, now I’m installing Office on this one so I can write my paper. I did have a long description of the events of yesterday, but for the sake of time you’ll simply have to deal with “it went well.” Printing that is. So, that project is done. Now on to a new one. Ah the joys of college.

To answer some comments…
I’m using the add in card because the “built in” networking isn’t really built in, it’s this little dinky “half of a board” thing, that doesn’t even fit in a slot, it just sits there and you connect it to the MB with what looks like a CD audio wire. So, screw that. I disabled it in Device Manager and tried setting up the network again. Still nothing. I’ve used all the settings that are on this machine and it still won’t recognize the connection. It knows that I have a LAN and that I want to connect through it, but when it gets to the “internet connection” part of the installation wizard it stops. It says it can’t finish and that I should do it manually. So, it sets up the network just fine, I can see all my roommates and such, but it won’t give me the connection through the hub. It keeps saying how its not recommended to use a hub and that I should be going through a server or firewalled pc. I don’t understand it anymore. I’ll try and find instructions on changing network setting, because I’ve obviously missed something.
As for Dungeon Siege, I take my comments back. Crashing problems fix. It was me, not the game. Still, incase anyone’s interested, there’ll be a patch out later today. No link for you yet, but check places like Voodoo Extreme and Blues.
Today I’m going to be working on two things. A: Writting a large research paper and B: Getting that damn net connection to work. A is obviously more important than B, unless of course I’d like to install Office on the new system, copy over bookmarks and start trying to research on the new system… which doesn’t seem very practical.
Later tonight, Lauren and I have a little event/dance thingy to go to. It should be fun, it’s at the top floor of a downtown hotel. All ritzy and stuff. I should probably iron a shirt them…
Then tomorrow it’s back to the darkroom where I’ll be printing for a good chunk of the day. Nagle’s expressed an intrest in tagging along to film me working. Something about making a film trailer. That should be interesting.
I’m also waiting on test results for Lauren so we can figure out what’s causing her sickness at the moment. I hope it’s nothing serious or at least something that can be easily treated once diagnosed. I’m really worried for her.
That is all. Carry on…

Stuffage. Day one of Uber Rig’s existance has come to pass and it was a less than eventful one. I got XP up and running… more or less. It’s crashing and/or lagging heavily when I try to change network settings. I’m figuring it’s a conflict between the motherboards built in net card and the Linksys I put in. The Linksys is updated and everything is running ok (or so it says) but the system is still confused and refuses to use anything but the motherboard to set up the LAN. So, until I figure out why it isn’t playing nice with the network card, I’ve got no internet connection. Besides that, it seems to be running pretty good. Some things need patching and updating, but I can’t exactly get to “Windows Update” without an internet connection, so it’ll have to wait. Speaking of patches… Dungeon Siege needs one BADLY. I’ve never seen such a buggy game. It can’t be my system… cause everything is absolute updated to the latest drivers. That and it’s crashing every two minutes on Jason’s system as well. Thank goodness there’ll be a patch on Friday. Maybe then I can play for more than 10 minutes at a time.
As far as “real life” goes… it goes. I’m printing tomorrow and friday and already printed a good deal today (wednesday). It’ll be rough, but I’ll get it done. I’ve got a big ass paper to write as well. Lauren’s also having a pretty crummy time with finals and such, but we’ll get through it. She encourages me to push on and I do the same for her. That’s about it. All work and no play and all that jazz.
Later.
