Well, it’s been a landmark day in terms of entertainment… at least around my house anyway. This morning Lauren and I made a stop at BestBuy and purchased the new Ani Difranco double live CD set. I also purchased the new DropKick Murphy’s CD “Live on St. Patricks Day: recorded live in Boston.” Both CDs are a must have for fans of either band. Jason, my roommate, not to be outdone, decided to go and purchase the latest Vandals CD. From what I’ve heard its pretty good as well. I also put my preorder in at EBWorld for Unreal Tournament 2003. They’re running an online special for $39.99. That’s $20 cheaper than in the store and $10 cheaper than Amazon incase you’re keeping track. Actually, Amazon’s price is $45, but then you add shipping costs. After that Lauren’s roommate Brittney decided to go get Monsters Inc since today was it’s DVD release day. We watched that this afternoon. What a great day.
I should also mention that classes start tomorrow. Thankfully I won’t have to give up my sleeping-in habit since my first class doesn’t start until 3pm. Ah, the joys of being a Senior in college. Which, by the way, is really starting to freak me out. I’m 3 semesters away from being in “the real world.” Shit. I’m not ready for that. I want to fuck about and not have any responsibilities for at least another decade. Hell, I just pre-ordered a video game. Does that seems like something a “responsible adult” would do? (don’t answer that)
Oh well. At least I have classes I’ll enjoy this year. With the exception of two semi-annoying history classes, everything I have left to take until I graduate are electives. I can take just about anything I want. That in itself is a great feeling.
Anyway, I should probably get some sleep. If you haven’t gotten the UT2k3 demo yet, I suggest you do. I need to have someone’s ass to beat senseless if I’m going to have the game on my doorstep on release day. Ah the endless joys for preordering. ‘Night.

I saw a post on Tess’ journal and I started thinking about it for a bit. Problem is that after I was “done” thinking about it I tried to go to sleep. My brain apparently disagreed with me and continued to think about it. So, here I am, 2am and making a post to my web page when I should be sleeping. Oh well.
“There are tons of things that make me happy that I take for granted; like friends, family, good health, a place to live, food to eat, a job, both my legs, etc. But there are also tons of little things that I tend to overlook. So, beyond the obvious, these are the little things that I am grateful for/that make me happy:”
-old black and white movies
-vanilla coke
-photography
-the fact I never grew up
-a good sense of sarcasm
-hot apple pie
-having a girlfriend that likes my geek-ness
-skiing
-autumn air
-ultimate frisbee
-techno
-Boston
-being independent
-Mexican food
-huge Margarittas (see above)
-the smell of photo chemicals in the morning
-counter-strike
-comfortable shoes
-Dunkin’ Donuts
-Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox
-watching play-off hockey
I guess thats about all I can think of for the moment. I’m going to sleep now.

Yesterday Lauren and I took a little road trip to Charleston to visit her friend Ashely. It was quite a nice trip until we stopped to have some dinner. We were eating at your typical micro-brewery-turned-into resturant type place. You know, those places that only serve their own beer and usually have good BBQ. Anyway, as our food was arriving the waiter reached over the table to hand me my plate and knocked an entire class of iced tea into my lap. It was cold and a bit unpleasent. I did my best to not strangle anyone, after all, it was only an accident. It’s not like it was something that was going to stain my clothes or cause perminet injury. So, semi-smiling through my teeth, I cleaned myself off and sat back down. To my amazement the waiter never came back over to appologize, merely asking if there was anything else he could do for us. He didn’t even tell our waitress (he was just the guy that brought that food out). Not only that but he didn’t tell a manager or any one else for that matter. Now, this may sound bad, but if I get a drink spilled into my lap I expect a piece of pie or something. I got nothing. Barely even an appology. Where’s my pie damnit! At least give me a free drink, free desert, something. I don’t expect to get a free dinner, but some pie would be nice. Oh well. Can’t win’em all.
Anyway, Nagle just called and asked if we wanted to go see 1 Hour Photo, so I might go do that. Later.

Wow, I’m gone for two weeks and my blood pressure stays just fine… but I’m back for 1 day and the Microsoft-isms already abound. You know… I think I’d live longer if I just stepped away from the keyboard for a while. In the meantime, you can make yourself ill by reading this:
The fatal flaw in MS’s new Media Center PC
And when you’re done with that you can grudgingly get both Win XP and IE6 service packs. Enjoy your daily dose of capitalism and evil.
