This. Is. Unbelievable.
Guys, this is quite possibly the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen. It’s lived up to it’s hype. Valve has outdone themselves. This is simply one of the greatest leaps in gaming. Period.

If only I could afford to get it 🙁
I (like a goon) pre-ordered Doom 3 and Half-life 2 at the same time over a year ago. Doom 3 has of course come and gone and, barring some minor technical problems, I enjoyed playing it immensely, including the several trouser changes I had to go through due to urine soaking. Half-life however hasn’t shipped yet! Everyone else already has the damn thing. I “bought” it over a year ago and it hasn’t even shipped. That’s re-damn-diculous.
As a small side note I’m more than a tad disappointed at the lack of political observance at the very list here. It took me a few days to calm down enough to stop thinking about the whole canadian citizenship route.
Chip – I’m sorry 🙁 If you don’t have it by Christmas I’ll pick up a copy for ya 🙂
Jason – That sucks dude. Who did you order it from? EB? GameStop? If I were you, I’d get Steam, preload the game, and then all you have to do is put in your CD key when you finally get it.
And as for lack of political opinions, what can I really say that hasn’t been said before. I, which really stuns me, took a much more middle road than most. I didn’t want EITHER of them. They were both tools. Bush is, well, a moron. Kerry is a sleeze bag. He just seemed like the greasy politician and as much as I wanted to believe he did, he didn’t have a single idea in his big melon head. So, there you go, I hated’em both. I really wanted a 3rd candidate, even Dean, while crazy, would have been acceptable.
So, my lack of capital hill reporting was mainly based on malase for the whole thing and the fact that people much more versed in the english launguage than I could probably phrase it far more effectively.
in a further bit of aggrivation….I finally got Half-Life 2 in the mail today. When i went to install it I got a cabinet file corruption error. Sierra tech support is non-existant at the moment and who knows how long Valve will take to respond. I tried unpacking the cab file myself and WinRAR says the cab file is corrupt. My only thought is that they sent me a bad disc, which seems ridiculous. There’s no offer through Steam to download the game if you have a valid serial #. The thing that pisses me off most is that I expect this kind of crap when I download some bin file off DC++, but I had the same thing happen when I installed my store bought copy of Splinter Cell and Doom 3. Pushing the ignore button during both of those installs somehow passed the problem with no later signs of trouble. grrrrrr
