I got a great trade package in the mail the other day from my Tiger trade buddy Dennis over at Too Many Verlanders/Grandersons/Manninghams/BlogTitles. 😉
I had sent him a message about the Olympics set disappearing from store shelves and we initially were going to trade dupes. I ended up only having a couple he needed, but we swapped cardboard anyway and Dennis hooked me up with a sweet return package.

My good buddy Sam over at the Daily Dimwit mentioned to me that he had a couple cards I had been looking for and that he was sending me a PWE. What I didn’t realize was that it would finish off not one set, but two.

I’ve been on a bit of a hockey kick lately. Not that I’m ever “off” hockey, as a fan I’m always following my team, but it’s not a big part of my collecting habits. For one, hockey cards seem under-produced in general, which leads to higher prices. I’d rather throw $3 at a baseball relic/auto than $15 for a hockey one. I honestly don’t know how Greg does it. Wait, what? Series 1, are you serious? Yeah, kinda. Heritage came out last Friday, and I’m so ticked off at it that I’m actually going to post a now completed team set for Series 1. Why? Because, while flawed at a fundamental level, at least Series 1 has the common courtesy to not bend you over with ridiculous short prints. I’ll get to that.

Finally, we come to the end of the rainbow. This post may be exceedingly long, mostly due to the fact that I wanted to post most of these individually. Everything here will be part of my personal collection. These are the reasons I went to the card show in the first place. Just as a reminder, everything up to this point, including these, was under $100. I found rookies I needed, early player cards, relics, autos, even a couple really nice graded cards. Also included are some player collections, some of which aren’t really that epic, but I wanted to include them anyway. Let’s start with those and work our way up. Enjoy!
